How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in Kent?

Most couples in Kent spend between £695 and £1,495 on their wedding photography. My intimate and elopement coverage starts from £695, full day coverage from £1,245, and extended coverage from £1,495, with travel included within 100 miles of Kent. Every package includes professional editing and a private online gallery.

Price is usually one of the first questions couples ask me, and I completely understand why. Wedding budgets have a lot of moving parts, and photography often feels hard to compare because every photographer structures things differently. So here is an honest look at what wedding photography costs in Kent, what you actually get for your money, and how to decide what level of coverage is right for your day.

What do wedding photography packages in Kent typically include?

A good package should cover the photographer’s time on the day, professional editing of every image, and a straightforward way to receive your photographs. All of my wedding packages include professionally edited, high resolution images, a shareable and downloadable Pixieset online gallery, and a pre-wedding consultation so we can plan the day together.

The main difference between packages is coverage time and image count:

  • Intimate and elopement coverage from £695: up to 4 hours, ceremony and key moments, relaxed couple portraits, and 250 or more edited images
  • Full day coverage from £1,245: 10 hours from morning preparations through to the evening celebrations, with 650 or more edited images
  • Extended coverage from £1,495: up to 12 hours for longer days and larger guest lists, with 800 or more edited images and priority editing

Why does wedding photography cost what it does?

The hours you see me working at your wedding are only part of the job. Before your day there are consultations, timeline planning, venue research and equipment preparation. I bring backup camera bodies, lenses, batteries and memory cards to every wedding, and I hold both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

After the wedding comes the biggest chunk of work: individually selecting and editing hundreds of photographs. Most of my couples receive between 500 and 700 edited images from a full day, and each one is worked on properly rather than run through a batch filter. When you divide the price by the real hours involved, wedding photography is far less expensive than it first appears.

What affects the price of a wedding photographer?

Coverage time is the biggest factor. A four hour elopement is a very different job from a twelve hour day that starts with morning preparations and finishes on the dance floor. Beyond that, a few things move the price up or down:

  • A second photographer: I offer this for £200, which adds a second angle on the ceremony and coverage of both partners getting ready
  • Travel: I include travel within 100 miles, so most weddings across Kent, London and the South East have no extra travel cost
  • Albums and prints: handcrafted albums are available after your gallery is delivered, so you can decide once you have seen your photographs
  • Engagement sessions: an optional extra, and a lovely way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the day itself

How do you choose the right coverage for your day?

Start with your timeline rather than the price list. If you are having an intimate ceremony with a meal afterwards, four hours may genuinely be enough. If you want the story of the whole day, from the nervous cup of tea in the morning to the first dance, full day coverage is the right fit for most weddings. Extended coverage suits longer days where you do not want anyone watching the clock.

If you are unsure, tell me how you imagine the day running and I will give you a straight answer on what coverage fits, including where you can save money. I would rather you book the right package than the biggest one.
