Josh & Frankie Ungar’s Relaxed London Wedding | South East Kent Wedding Photographer
Even though I’m normally a South East Kent wedding photographer, London days always feel different—fast-paced, stylish, and full of blink-and-you-miss-it moments. Josh & Frankie’s wedding was exactly that, and I loved capturing it as it unfolded.

Josh & Frankie’s relaxed London wedding
Josh & Frankie Ungar’s wedding was the kind of day I love—chilled, family-first, and full of the good stuff: hugs, laughs, and little moments that only happen when everyone feels relaxed.
They chose The Old Marylebone Town Hall for the ceremony, and it looked incredible—classic, grand, and somehow still intimate. I arrived as guests were gathering, camera rolling quietly in the background, catching greetings, nervous smiles, and that lovely build-up before the big moment. I photographed Josh first, calm but buzzing, then Frankie arrived looking unreal. Nothing posed. Just real, clean moments.
During the ceremony I kept it documentary: vows, glances, and guests reacting to every word. After the main moment, we grabbed a quick shot with the witnesses signing and squeezed in a small window for photos inside. The Town Hall can be busy with multiple weddings, but we moved quickly and made it count.

Outside the Town Hall, guests were ready for the confetti shot and we got it—big smiles, movement and pure celebration. We followed that with an “everyone in attendance” group photo, then Josh, Frankie and I walked off for 15 minutes into side roads off The Old Marylebone Town Hall for slightly more directed couple portraits. Still relaxed, still natural, but with a bit of guidance to make sure we created some timeless images.

Drinks reception at The Mayfair Hotel
After the confetti and a few quick portraits around Marylebone, we jumped in a black cab to The Mayfair Hotel. We grabbed a couple of fun, documentary-style photos in the cab, then did some family group shots out front before everyone headed inside. The whole vibe was easy: great food, lots of laughter, and service that looked after everyone (me included). Nothing staged—just people having a good time and me documenting it.
As a wedding photographer, I love these London-and-Kent combinations. A lot of couples will do the ceremony in London and celebrate closer to home, or the other way around. I’m based in South East Kent, so I’m on the Kent coast a lot—Deal, Margate, Whitstable, Rye, Sandwich, Kingsdown—and I’m in London often for registry weddings like The Old Marylebone Town Hall.
Relaxed wedding photography for young couples in Kent and London
If you’re a young couple planning your wedding, I know photography can feel like a big decision. My approach is simple: I keep things relaxed, I blend in, and I capture the day as it unfolds. I’ll guide you where you need it (especially for couple portraits) but the focus is always on real emotion and real connection.
I describe my style as documentary wedding photography with a clean, modern look — the kind of images that will still feel fresh in 10 years. Weddings in Kent often have beautiful natural settings and coastal light, while London weddings bring energy and iconic architecture. I love marrying those worlds together.
A few planning tips from a Kent wedding photographer
- Keep your timeline simple so you can enjoy the day (and so I can capture more candid moments).
- If you’re having a registry wedding in London, plan a short walk or a nearby spot for portraits — it makes for incredible, authentic photos.
- Consider golden hour portraits if you’re celebrating on the Kent coast — the light is incredible.
